Modest Mouse

concert

Hello Family and Friends!

Here is the breakdown for Tuesday, June 24, 2008:
  1. Physical Health - I went on a bike ride for 32 minutes, I was in the zone for 22 minutes, Average was 151, High was 172, Calories burned = 309. This heart rate monitor is great! I love it. Well, I definitely felt the burn when I first got on the bike today. The longer ride on Sunday definitely made an impact on my leg muscles! That is the point - keep it up. During the week, I can't do one hour and a half, but I can certainly work 30 minutes in. ;)
  2. Mental Health - I have not read anything today. I will have to work on this later tonight! I still have awhile for the day to end.
  3. Emotional Health - Last night I went to the Modest Mouse concert. That was two days worth of happiness. It was a wonderful concert. I will admit that I did not get to work in the 30 minutes of straight walking yesterday. I did walk around Lincoln Road a little bit before and after the concert. Yesterday's concert was also the first time I have been General Admission area. I got the tickets pre-sale. All the pre-sale tickets were GA. I have never been so close to a live band AND it is one of my favorite bands! I was on my tip toes most of the concert to get a better view. I also "concert dancing" for most of the show. Hey, this could be my physical health for yesterday! LOL. In any event, I had a wonderful time (enough to be my emotional happiness for 2 days!) I think that I will stick to having an actual seat next concert though. It is tough being pushed around, standing, being next to obnoxious fans for about 3 hours!
I am posting a You Tube clip already online from last nights concert! The sound quality is definitely not as good as at the show! I just wanted you to see the area I was in. If you want to watch it, make sure to be on your personal computer. No watching from work! I don't want to get anyone in trouble! Can you believe that videos are already up from the show? That is one of the things that bothered me last night. Everyone is so into taking (and then showing their whole group) pictures and videos on their digital cameras. I stopped taking my camera to shows about 1 year ago. I noticed that I enjoy the moment a lot more without it. Plus your videos and pictures never turn out all that well!
I am also posting a little cartoon that I found to reflect my experience in the GA area last night.

Love,
Lulu

P.S. If you have a few extra minutes, check out their opening act - Dirty Dozen Brass Band. They are a New Orleans brass band. They are incredible live! It was a pleasant addition. :)

Sounds like a great show! I'd love to listen to some of their tunes.

I like the fact that you don't bring the camera anymore. I think that's so interesting.

Keep it going missy!
